A320 Briefings

Yes, i know this is a quiet boring part… However it is also an important one, for several reasons.

The first one being, to make sure that you picked up all the relevant informations that you could need during the most important phase of the flight, which are the take-off and departure, and the descent, arrival, landing and taxi.

The second one is to brief your flight mate about the course of actions the relevants treats and the repartitions of the tasks. In the end it is also improving the communication and the team-work, as it is the point where you have a chance to summarize and to remind (if you already talked about it before), your mate about your strategic decisions, and choices for those phases such as the configuration and the way you prepared your flight.

The briefing is always performed by the pilot flying, and questioned, challenged by the pilot monitoring. At this point it is also very important to listen to it, and do not hesitate to question it, or pop up with your suggestions. As you should by the end know all the decisions and choices made by your pilot flying. Therefore you shouldn’t be surprise by any decisions but you also may agree on them.

CRM minute : Do not hesitate to speak up if you are not confortable with any decision or situation.

You will find here a standard typical Airbus Briefing, in the form of a poem/song. My suggestion would be to learnt it as a song and to fill the gaps with the daily elements. It is boring but once you will know it everything will go smoothly and nicely.
